Make the next call useful
Prepare for a water-heater service visit.
A clear description helps the service company choose the right technician and bring suitable parts. Collect only what you can see safely from the outside.
Gas odor or CO alarm? Leave and call from outside first. For water near electrical equipment, keep clear. Use the safety checklist before gathering notes.
These optional notes stay on this page and are not submitted or stored by the site. Print or save them before leaving the page.
Useful photographs
- The exterior rating plate, if safely accessible.
- The display with the full fault showing.
- A leak location seen from a dry position, without touching controls or discharge.
Do not remove a cover, recreate a trip, or restart a burner to obtain evidence. Send photographs directly to the repair company rather than posting your serial number publicly.
Questions to ask before authorizing repairs
- What fault was demonstrated, and what is still uncertain?
- Which model-specific part or procedure is proposed?
- Is there an underlying leak, wiring, supply, or venting problem?
- What does the estimate include, and what would require a separate approval?
- How will safe operation be checked after the repair?
